The list of workshops for The Festival of Quilts has just been released for non-members of the Quilters Guild.
If you cannot make it to the The Festival of Quilts, please download a copy of my workshop brochure published for groups & guilds. Apologies but I am not currently running workshops at my premises.

My workshops are ready to book, so here is an outline of what to expect:

Friday 7 August
10;30 – 11:30
Inspired by Staffordshire Hoard – SOLD OUT

STAFFORDSHIRE HOARD:reworked in velvet, stitch and print
The newly discovered Staffordshire Hoard provides endless scope for the imagination and to rework those ideas in stitch and print. This workshop will examine some of these pieces and develop a resource of techniques using velvet as base fabric, metallic stitch (both hand and machine) and simple printing techniques in conjunction with metallic printing inks.

There is no ‘end product’ around which this workshop s based, but students may jump off at any point to develop an idea. The techniques explored in this workshop will be the starting point for creating a resource of worked samples for future use.

NB Although this workshop can be taken by anyone, students must be well practiced in performing basic stitching on a sewing machine and be patient with using sewing machines for free motion machining. There will no machine technician available so this session will need to act as a peer group if any machine specific issues arise.
